* Old Testament and separate New Testament Bibles donated by Captain S H Baumgarten to St. John's Chapel in the Steyne in 1833 when the gothic tower was added to the Chapel of Ease. The Old Testament section was rediscovered in 2007 and the New Testament section in 2008, both in a bad state of repair, and both bibles have now been fully restored ready for the Centenary Celebrations of the church and the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible.
