Heritage

The heritage of Saint Wilfrid Church can be traced back to 1896. When, in response to the growing and changing population of Bognor, a tin chapel was built very close to where Saint Wilfrid Church now stands. Between 1905 and 1910, work began on the construction of a permanent church to replace the chapel and in 1910, although construction work remained (and still remains) unfinished, Saint Wilfrid Church, Bognor, was consecrated. In 1971, it became the Parish Church of Bognor Regis. Read more.
